Well Made, Compact & Strong Carry Case
3 of 3 found this helpful My 3DS fits nicely in this case and is securely strapped in, so no worries about it falling out if the zip is open! Also the straps mean that it can sit secure and not rattle about while moving, or if the case is not filled on the other side with game cards.
It has a protective soft fabric flap to sit between the console and all the game cards you can fit in the other side. The inner shell is lined with a soft fabric to cushion your console and games, while the outer shell feels very robust and durable. Quite hard with just a little give that should help absorb an impact if you drop it on the pavement outside. Still rigid enough that you don't have to worry about shoving it in a tightly packed shoulder bag while transporting it around.
It will store 12 DS or 3DS cards in the elasticated pouches and still close comfortably. I find these pouches easy to insert games into or remove them from. I thought I'd also test the pouch, as the supplier suggests. The pouch holds up to 8, I'd say - safely. I'd recommend no more than 4 if you already have the 12 slots filled, as 8 can slide over each other and make the case harder to close.
That being said, I could still zip it up with 16 in the pouch (+12 in the slots), it just felt a bit crammed and may not protect your goods so well. Bearing in mind you can leave two cartridges in the machine, this brings the card tally to 18 at a comfortable fit, 22 safely but with some effort, and a max of 30 cartridges if you push it to the limit.
There is also a pouch inside that I do not know the purpose to. it measures 1cm across, and could fit something up to 5cm (2 inches) long in it. So not a stylus. There is a handy elasticated flap inside for you to keep a spare stylus in. It will stretch out a fair bit, so you could probably fit at least 3 in there, if you really want to. Unfortunately I don't have 3 to test how well it holds them in place - I barely even have 1 as I keep losing the things!
The carry strap is of no interest to me, but looks strong and reliable. It clips on with a simple mechanism, so you could always replace it if you want, anyway.
