A clever metaphor appropriate to Louis' family.
I was already familiar with this book when I purchased this copy but was amazed by the moderate price. It is a compelling tale written in beautiful French: I wanted to reread it because of the quality of the French language and the atmosphere of place and time which is so well created by Mauriac.
