N'awlins Humour
Essentially a one-novel wonder, the story behind how this gem got published is almost as good as the novel, but Toole's novel will have you laughing out loud, and wishing he didn't commit suicide before authoring more great humorous fiction. Love it!

Hard-Boiled Baby!
Hard-Boiled baby, that's what Chandler offers, plus of course masterpiece prose that'll make you laugh and then wonder how this was written over 60 years ago - it's so current. Marlowe is tough and quite the wisecracker, but also check out Carol John Daley's Race Williams series, another hard-boiled exquisite experience.
