CD52 mk2 SE - Crystal clear and never harsh, a retro classic and bargain

This review is for the SE, or Special Edition model of the CD52 mk2. This player has got nice retro looks and more importantly, great sound. The sound is nice and clear, voices, even when loud or high pitched are never harsh or grating. Very nice across the range. Bass nice and tight. Generally seen on sale now for about £50 BIN and worth every bit of it. If the CD draw struggles a bit you can buy a new plastic gear and belt for this cheaply to fix it. For reference, i am using this with a Rotel RA971BX integrated amp (hugely underrated for their older minimalist amps, check them out), Mission 702 standmount speakers and some old Monster interconnects.
