Brecht lives - At least for Beginners
I've always been a big fan of these "For Beginners" books, mainly because they explain what most folks wouild consider difficult issues in language even I find easy to understand. And Bertolt Brecht's Epic Theatre is definately one of those difficult issues. Alienation, Epic, Guist - none of those words mean what you think they mean, at least in so far as Brecht is concerned.
Highly recommended, especially if you're teaching Theatre Arts to a senior secondary school class and one of your new students is wearing a long black scarf and a leather jacket. Better to be prepared.
