Beautiful fly rod.
1 of 1 found this helpful The rod casts great with floating and sinking lines. I like the light weight and how the Redington Zero 4-5 reel balances with the 3 weight 8 1/2 foot long rod. Looks great. Performs better than I expected it to.

Great fly rod for fishing from the beaches
I enjoy fly fishing the Oregon beaches for surf perch. I have an 8 weight Sage Foundation I have used and really like the casting tempo and the way it throws a compact shooting head line. An 8 weight is a little heavy for catching perch but is necessary in the stronger winds we get throughout the year. If conditions allow a 6 weight is a great rod for this style of fishing. I purchased a 6 weight Sage Foundation and I am looking forward to getting out and using this rod throughout summer and fall.
