A Good Intro Guide
This is a good overview of the inner workings of OS-X pertinent to trying to install on your own x86 hardware. As is the case in the computer world, most of the discussion is already becoming dated, as the examples in the book center on Core 2 Duo and Leopard installs. There are also more streamlined methods of "hacking" now available - easily located by searching online. It is also oriented towards someone without previous OS-X experience as much time is spent discussing the basic differences between Windoze and the Mac experience - things anyone familiar with OS-X will find less than riveting reading. There are also a couple much more in depth chapters on programming which appear detailed but not directly applicable to building an OSx86 machine. But, all in all, a well written and concise synopsis. I suggest you browse through the book as an intro to going online and finding the latest on building your own Hackintosh.

A Good Basic Game
I bought this game for my 11 year old son - he seems to think that it's great. I like that there's enough real history built into the storyline that there may be some educational merit. It's demands are basic enough to run on older, weaker PC's, as well. Please note that this game requires an activation with a Steam account. Please note that if you buy a used copy that already has the activation code registered with a Steam account - there doesn't seem to be an easy way to transfer to a new person. This makes a used copy of this game virtually worthless. You can download this directly from Steam (Valve), often for less than what these sell for used. Be warned.
