No so quiet

Dissapointing as the psu fan can be heard even when the PC is idling, so for the psu to be described as quite is misleading. When the PC is running under heavy load, the psu fan can be heard revving up and down, so frequently its annoying. For the price its good value.

'Silent' Fan PC power supply is too noisy

This power supply was in fact too noisy and the word 'Silent' in the name of the power supply is wholly misleading and should be emoved from the name. As a result the power supply is now only being kept as a spare in case my existing power supply fails. On the good side it was low cost and not as noisy as some PC power supplies that I have encountered. The main power connecter was poorly moulded and refused to clip onto the socket of my PC mainboard. This required a small modification of the power supply connector by cutting away part of the plastic clip.

Very good but check and make safe the internal mains wiring and earthing before use

These units are renowned (see youtube) for having unsafe mains wiring and should always be checked before using them. The unit I received had no earthing of the metal case, most of which had a thick paint coating proving some insulation but some parts were bare metal, so I had to make the unit safer to use by adding an earth wire to the metal case. The device does work well and is reasonably priced
