Not very tough, but fairly economical.
1 of 1 found this helpful We've used these for years. Plan on replacing once a year. The seals often fail and they get wet inside from rain. Make sure you take them off at night or your dogs neck will get hot spots. The standard 9v battery is easily replaceable and economical, but it makes the box very large. If you have chewers, they will tear the boxes off of each others collars.

Over heats, hard to hold.
It gets quite hot, so much its uncomfortable to hold. It's also hard to hold without accidentally pushing buttons. Definitely invest in a case. It slipped out of my hands in a few weeks and the backside shattered!
