Definitely one for the book shelf, both novice or professional gardener...
2 of 2 found this helpful At the time of writing this review I haven't completely read this book yet but from what I know and have seen so far, it's certainly one for the collection. The author is a renowned name in the gardening world of books and this certainly comes out in the vast amount of useful information the book contains. My copy was an ex-library book and in good condition. I knew about this book before I purchased it, having seen it at my sisters. The book is packed with useful information about countless flowers and includes details on plant likes and dislikes in terms of soil type, sun & shade, wet or dry habitats, plant heights for positioning in the borders, to name but a few. This is truly a must for anyone with an interest in gardening, from the complete novice to the professional gardener. Definitely one for the book shelf and a really useful book if your looking for inspiration or just ideas of what to plant in your garden.

Big book and packed with useful plant information
Having only had the book for a short time I can't go into great depth here, but from what I've seen of the book thus far I can say that it is packed with useful information about plants and flowers and lots of high quality images to support the information provided. There's details about garden style, using colour, plant likes and dislikes in terms of dry, sunny, shady aspects to name but a few and it certainly lives up to the title in being an encyclopedia of plants and flowers! It is quite a big heavy book but certainly well worth the price and will be a valuable asset to both the novice and professional gardener. Enjoy...

Small book filled with useful tips
This is a great book, well put together. It takes you through furniture restoration in a methodical manner and approaches the subject of furniture restoration in a way that will suit the amateur to professional. Although it has been in publication for many years, the information it contains is still relevant today. A thoroughly good read.
