So easy to use and still a lot to listen to.
I had a Realistic Pro 2004 32 years ago and they are so well designed that I can still use the 2006 today with no need to read instructions. Yes most stuff is digital now but I use it exclusively for aircraft reception (vhf & uhf) and it works very well.
There are a lot of other things to listen to still including amateur radio, shipping and still a lot of analogue company radio systems.
The backlight panel is easy to replace and readily available online. I purchased one last week for £8 (GBP) inc postage and was simple to fit but then I've done a few.
As long as you are aware of the limitations then these are great value second hand. The keypad can get a bit grubby and worn and I replaced the program button internally, again with a product found online and now works like new.

A gripping tale told with a sense of humour
I've recently read a lot of books about Everest and to me this one has been the best. Well written with a good dose of Humour. :)

A rare and great looking espresso machine
The X4 was made by Francis Francis a few years ago and has been out of production for some time. They are getting rare nowadays and are essentially the same internals as most of the Francis Francis machines with the exception of being controlled by user defined temperature and brew time. With a bit of effort & patience, the machine can produce a pretty decent tasting coffee. I buy espresso machines as non working and repair them. The photo attached to this review shows an X4 as it looks after spending a number of hours working on it.
