Zen Vision Model "M"
4 of 7 found this helpful Although I am selling mine to help pay for other new gadgets, I wanted to comment on the model "M" because it seems most of the other reviewers are talking about the "W" model which I think is the wider screen design. My model has the standard screen but does display wide video formats. The battery is internal. No speaker either. But don't be disappointed in this respect, none of the DVD players I have examined in the stores have good sound with out headphones. The Zen sound is great with decent in the ear phones.
The FM radio really pulls in the stations, very clear and it uses the wires to the ear phones as the antenna. Very easy to record like one reviewer stated.
I agree with the reviewer who mentioned that you can not delete files from a computer with the interface cable; you need to use the touch controls on the player. Would be a nice to have feature, but not essential. The software will automatically synchronize files to your computer although I only tried this once.
No one mentioned the touch controls. They are very sensitive, but I got used to them. One feature that I am missing on my new DVD player that the Zen had: You can move a little bar along to advance or replay the video, there is a seek function and the time position of the video is displayed.
The reason I bought this brand over the the Zune and Ipod, was the quality of the picture, additional features and the universal aspect of the player. The Zen just works with most any file although you have to use Creative Labs software to convert and load them.
