The Warlords (Directors Cut) DVD

Worth a second look
At first viewing many years ago, I saw an epic drama into chinese history. I'm not an expert to question about its historical accuracy, but if you are also open to seeing some character developments and conflicts between "three brothers", it is a worthy picture to see. While I haven't viewed all of the features, this second viewing of this picture with deleted scenes explained the "why's" I had.
Mandarin & cantonese available with English subtitles. Enjoy new viewers and repeat-viewers.

Worth your consideration...
1 of 1 found this helpful The director's cut is worth a look, because it presents a version of the film that flows more smoothly and has answered many questions on character interactions that the theatrical release doesn't quite explain, namely Roy Hobbs' relationship with people- the lady in black, the lady in white, his father, and others, which gives you a sense of what happened in those fifteen years before he joined the Knights, as well as, how his past experiences shaped him. The extra disc explains some of the production issues they faced and also explains similarities and differences from the book. The film is definitely a movie about optimism.
