Living with a Miele upright Vacuum cleaner
Has to be one of, if not the best Upright Vacuum cleaner on the Market at the moment. The build quality alone leaves the cheap and nasty looking Dysons standing. It is just as easy to use as the Dyson ball type but won't break when you bump the furniture. The Turbo brush makes cleaning pet hairs off the sofa and chairs a breeze and I found its the only Vacuum cleaner that actually removes hair stuck in the pile of my very deep Chinese rug. It glides along the carpet without any effort and the Miele warranty is bomb proof.
The downside is the price of course. They are expensive but the build quality makes me believe it will last a long time. The original Miele bags are expensive compared to aftermarket clones but they work so much better its worth the extra cost.
Due to the weight of the cleaner the elderly or young might struggle to carry this Vacuum cleaner up and downstairs but otherwise I can highly recommend it if its in your budget.

3 of 3 found this helpful The Empress I have just bought is the last of the old UK model. Not to be confused with the newer Italian made plastic version. which are total junk in comparison.
This old petrol lawn mower has a cast Alloy deck with an electric starter. It is self propelled with a heavey rear roller for the striped lawn look.
Grass collection is good but watch out for holes in the collection bag/box.
These older models are becoming very worn now so finding a working good condition model is becoming rare but finding a good makes it worth searching for.
Normal wear and tear will stretch the drive belt causing loss of drive, Batteries always seem to be flat so the electric starter don't work and carb problems will cause the motors to run badly or not at all. The problem is that no one maintains lawn mowers apart from professional gardeners .
Good points are great grass collector, easy to start if battery is working and motor is in good condition, gives you strips in your lawn look, cheap compared to a Hayter or Honda.
Bad points are Newer models are plastic rubbish, Batteries are always flat and expensive to replace, Grass level adjustmentor easily breaks, Collection bags rot is not looked after. Drive belts stretch. Hard to find working older Britsh built Alloy deck models.
