About

I look younger than I am, but I mostly act my age. If you can't guess from my user name, Radiohead is one of my favorite rock bands.

Radiohead: Fitter happier times
A must have for a true fan, that's why I bought it. For those that just like the song Creep, you may just expand your horizons a little. There are some great songs within that will never make the airwaves, but that is the whole conundrum with Radiohead. For those passive listeners, you might still enjoy the angst that fuels this band as they are denied entry to a bar, even after the bouncers know who they are. Bottom-line, this is a cool, modern and slick documentary of an underhyped group that has changed the rock scene through their influence on rock bands.

Sharp is sharp but color takes some tweaking
The biggest reason I bought the Sharp LC-52D65U was because it was BIG! Granted, I was used to a 27" CRT so everything looked large in comparison. Once I bought the TV and got it out of the box, it was staggering how large it was in my little house. Of course, after about a week of watching it was just 'normal' again. The price for size of screen was the main factor that led me to purchase this model. There were smaller screens that cost more that I felt had poorer picture quality. The jump up to a 60" was too much cost and impractical for my living space. This model was the perfect blend of large size, great picture quality and good price I was looking for. The picture quality took a little bit to get the way I thought looked best, based on mostly color settings. Depending on the kind of programming, for instance, animated vs. live action, the color could appear too pink or green. As well, if you view the picture too far off center, you lose the saturation of color and can get the same effect. However, this seems to be the case with most LCDs. If you have a wide room where you are viewing TV at an angle, plasma might be a better solution. I must say though, once I played with the menu and dialed in the settings, it really is an impressive picture. Playing Wii video games is pretty fun on such a big screen since you really feel drawn into the action and not just watching it.

Learn "Creep" (and 11 other songs) with this tablature!
This book of guitar tablature is a must for anyone who loves or even likes the band Radiohead. The book has full transcriptions of guitar and voice for all songs on the album Pablo Honey. This of course is the band's first album which featured the song "Creep." Ironically, the song was a huge hit for the band but as such became the signature to identify them. Once you have discovered the other songs on the album you really start to appreciate what they are able to create. Even more so, once you can see how to play the music through the tablature, you can really appreciate the talent and innovation that Radiohead brings to the music world. The book also includes 3 early photos of the band in its formative years (drummer Phil Selway still has hair). The lyrics are all in English but the notations of the tablature have been translated into French, German and Italian at the very end of the book. My only complaint with the tablature in the book is that the type could be a bit larger to make it easier to read. Of course, once you learn the songs, who needs to read music?
