Brick outhouse build quality.

I'd been planning to buy a looper pedal for ages, and I finally settled on the Boss RC-1 over the TC Looper because it didn't need a separate power supply, being equipped with a 9 volt battery.
The only problem I've had with it is getting the timing right: you've got to play well, count rhythm in your head, and operate the footswitch properly, which is a bit like patting your head while rubbing your belly. Takes practice. And swearing. Lots of swearing. But eventually you get your act together.
The price compares well with other models, and for what you pay you get a very sturdy unit that looks as if it will last. There's also an instruction manual in the box, which you might well throw away, but this would be a mistake. It comes in a ridiculous number of different languages in tiny print on a big sheet of paper. Cut out the English instructions and read them before you use your pedal.
Was it a good buy? Yes. I get to accompany myself and hear what I sound like when I play. Pro tip: there are hundreds of looper instruction videos on YouTube. Check some of them out.

Ideal for work.
I bought this because I needed a new fleece jacket for work, the old one having started to fall apart. The material is substantial, warm and comfortable, and the fit is excellent. The only let down is the zips; the main fastener feels a little clunky, and the zips on the side pockets too. At the price point, this is mere nitpicking, and wouldn't stop me recommending the jacket. Worn as a top layer it's more than adequate for cold spring or autumn days.

He was fixing my Servis machine, which had already cost me half as much in repair bills as it cost to buy, and his words turned out to be the best advice I ever had. I bought my first Bosch, and it lasted for eight years of regular hard use without a single problem. I bought this Bosch on the strength of that, and so far it's working well. Not quite as sturdy as my last one, but then it's a cheaper model. Easy to install, with just one cold water hose, and easy to use. Shove a load in, add wash powder, pick a programme and spin speed, and come back when it beeps. Clothes come out dry enough to finish drying indoors. Sole complaint? The selector dial feels a little bit rickety.
