Apple Macbook Pro Air External USB 3.0 DVD CD RW Drive Burner Writer Rewriter

Works great on Macs with USB 2.0 connector, not on Macs with USB 3.0 connector

Super drive worked fine without any special drivers on MacBook Air 2011. The MacBook Air 2018 did NOT recognize the drive. I would get the dialog box to set the region but it would not accept the answer. The documentation suggested downloading freeware but no specific software. I tried several packages with no success. I am happy to use it on the Macbook Air 2011 so I did not pursue it. It comes with two cables: A standard disk cable and a cable that looks like a power brick connector. Nothing in the documentation tells you which one to use. Both seemed to work but it would be nice to know which one is recommended.
