Carcassonne Expansion 2: Traders and Builders

Lots contained in a small expansion

The expansion includes new tiles, with shapes/combinations not included in the base game, and 3 new mechanics: traders, builders, and pigs. These are all interesting and change the gameplay and strategy, so you could introduce them one at a time if you wanted, or play with only some to give more variety. You can fit the whole expansion into the base game box if it's your only big expansion (we have this and The River in the original game box). The second edition has different artwork than the original, but it still lines up well and doesn't look bad at all. Really interesting and fun.
