Cheap at the price
Not quite the quality of print I was expecting of the BFI but better than video copies of earlier prints for sure.

A major work of cultural studies
This is an important book, analysing with great skill and insight the ways in which literature has represented the land, 'the country and the city', since the first days of writing about anything. It tells much about how the land has fallen into fewer and fewer hands over time, by acts of appropriation and enclosure. If it surprises to know that just 1% of the population owns more than 50% of the country today, this book will explain the history and the role novels, poetry and drama have played in making sure it stays that way.

Excellent film.
Excellent film. Will take you to surprising place. The boy actor is astounding and the lead, as always, convincing.
