Kirsty Hawkshaw : On Ultimate Things CD (1997)

It’s a fine album
Solo album from Kirsty Hwakshaw, beautiful singer and talented performer, most of the album is produced by Mark Pritchard doing all sorts of Global Communication style ambience, so is even better for that.
Nightmare movies: horror on screen since the 1960s by Kim Newman (Paperback)
22 Jan, 2019
Respected tome of celluloid nastiness
Regarded as a definitive catalogue of Horror Movies, Newman’s tome is a page turner, thematically linking disparate productions to show how each sub genre has evolved over time. He takes you through a breathless compendium of the numerous films he has watched in all their different versions. Sadly it’s a wee bit out of date (although I believe it gets constantly updated) and in illustrating his analysis it gets terribly spoilerific. It’s also surprising just how few films he seems to like. In the countless thousands he mentioned he seems to like only a small few. Maybe it’s irreverence meant with affection, but apart from Night of the Living Dead the praise for a genre he professes to adore is practically non existent.
