Replacing the remote fixed the problem! The shade works now!
When my Hunter Douglas shade quit working when using the remote, the Hunter Douglas place said I had to get a new one. Luckily, before I ordered that, a friend told me I could get a new remote even though the shade is over 20 years old. Never occurred to me that I could do that! Happily, when it arrived, I put in two new batteries, and it's been working like a charm every since. Saved myself buying a $900 shade by buying a new remote on ebay! Would have been nice if the Hunter Douglas place had suggested that!
