Magellan 4000 GPS is a value
This machine is easy to use! Took about 10 minutes to figure it out. Factory refurbished, but it may not matter. If you are a AAA member, AAA will extend manufacturer warranty by a year. All maps in the unit aseem to be quite current. Quick tips card really gets things working fast. I really bought this for my wife, who does some volunteer work for the local courts that can take her to places in the area that are, well, off our "beaten track". Like many ladies, she's a little tecnology-intimidated. She semed to be comfortable working with it very quickly. I suppose it would be nice to have voice recognition built into the unit but, frankly, the way we'll use it is for one address at a time and the keyboard-based functions will be just fine. Looking around ebay, factory refurbed Magellan 4000s are avaliable in the $100 +/- range . If you need a relatively high-end GPS at a reasonable price. i think you won't be disappointed.

E-500...a model behind but still a great value
It's a great camera. Have shot Olympus for over 30 years (film, obviously...have an OM4T with many $$$$$ invested in lenses and accessories)so i was cautious about stepping into digital. My firt foray was a Kodak DX6490. I gave me a very capable lens, the various scene modes i was looking for and full manual control if i needed. Great pictures. But the shutter lag...and a control set-up that's very different than an SLR, drove me crazy. When Olympus released the E-510, prices on this baby began to go down. Dramatically. Having read the reviews, experienced Olympus quality first-hand with film cameras...especially the Zuiko lenses...the minute i found one, with the standard 14-40 lens, in the $300 range ($306 to be exact...) i jumped at it. I've only taken it to shoot for 2 occasions...but i'm impressed. Excellent color saturation, pix framed just as they looked in viewfinder, excellent motion capture thanx to predictive autofocus. Light, fast, multi-spot metering, easy to set up and use...and it feels like the SLRs i'm used to. In fact, 2 different friends, proud owners of a Nikon D40 and D80, respectively, were impressed and a more than a bit jealous of what i had for the price. Just got a Zuiko 40-150 lens (for about $130)...did just a few test shots, but they look good. Lens is light, compact and will travel easily. So, for about $400, i've got the basics except for flash. I think this is the start of a beautiful friendship.

Compared to the IPad @ the price, grab it if you can.
Good tool. Great for surfing, email, word processing and spreadsheets on th ego, without lugging a heavy notebook. Drawbacks: stylus instead of a mouse that's touchy/ticky and a limited number of apps (but growing). Relatively cheap blu tooth keyboard synchs easily and works well. On the whole, a good buy...easy to use.
