The Number One Resource for First Time PCT Hikers

The Author's have done an incredible job of presenting the Pacific Crest Trail including it's features, plant life, creatures, and landscape. I have not hiked the PCT but plan on doing so this summer. The PCT is 2,650 miles long, starting at the Mexican border continuing all the way to the Canadian border. I will be doing a "section hike" instead of a "thru-hike", only hiking about 80 miles. The information contained in this book has given me confidence that I can complete the hike, know what to expect, what I will see, what I need to be prepared for, and what mistakes NOT to make. If you plan a weekend hike, a section hike, or a through hike of the PCT, you should read this book! It includes maps, trail data, and lots of specifics along the trail as to water cache's, fresh water locations, history, gear tips, seasonal tips, etc. This book is a "Gold Mine" for the newbie hiking the Pacific Crest Trail for the first time.
