Solid, heavy and ideal for most kitchen purposes
1 of 1 found this helpful The shape, size and weight of the mortar make it very easy to use for most purposes. It is deep rather than wide, helping to keep small items being ground at the bottom rather than squidging around the sides. It's heavy weight and wide base make it very stable on most work surfaces. There is no cut-out to rest the pestle unlike some others but in my view that is hardly a problem.
The pestle is likewise heavy and a good shape and size in the hand.
The only observation (not a big deal) is that the inside of the mortar and the grinding surface are both very roughly ground as they come "out of the box" and generate a granite paste when being first used. This is easily overcome by "lapping in" together for a couple of minutes with a small amount of water.
A very nice item that is likely to last a lifetime.

Excellent!
A really tidy, neat and strong looking padlock, that can can be operated single handedly if necessary.
Mine was slightly stiff when it arrived but it quickly became slick to open and close after a couple of day’s use.
Out of the box, mine was set so that the key could not be removed until it was properly locked, a feature I particularly like. But this can be quickly and easily changed if required and there are YouTube videos to show you how.
Definitely a great buy and, so far anyway, highly recommended.

As good as BMW OE
This appears to be nearly identical to the original equipment BMW filter.
