Living in Sam's Town
0 of 1 found this helpful The Killer's Sophomore release, Sam's Town, is a successful attempt to take a leap from the seemingly isolated, stand-alone hits, (and misses,) on Hot Fuss. Instead, this album harks a time of the conceptual album: Similar to "The Wall," The Killers ambitiously created an emotional landscape with visceral imagery. They use very real and iconic images of a rundown town in the American wasteland. Perhaps it is the connection between such towns and their decay as a real-life parable for the dissillusionment of the American middle class. At any rate, the listener should feel the "bonfires of trust and flash-floods of pain," and appreciate the poetry of lines like, "the stars are shining like rebels diamonds cut out of the sun when you read my mind," coupled with a musical brilliance that is both melodic and driving, while unabashedly using synthesized textures identical to the "New Wave" bands of the eighties. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy a day in Sam's Town.

Exclusive features - gaping holes
I bought this knowing what it does -manually activated reverse playback, trippy reverse-attack delays, and the experimental sounds possible with the manipulation of the looper. It does all of these things as expected and no other pedal that I know of does. However, if “Hazarai” means everything, why is there not a tap subdivision button like even the cheap Deluxe Memory Boy has? Why on earth is there no expression pedal input? Why no sweep filter, swell delay, pitch delay . . . This digital delay is vastly lacking features - but if you want what it has to offer, as I did, you’ll shell out the cash and be glad you did. Maybe one day, EHX will update this pedal to be true to it’s name. Until then, here’s hoping!
