Illuminated Glass Kettle 360 Cordless Electric 1.7L - Turn Blue Illuminating

Not bad value for money but you get what you pay for.

Pros: Stylish - looks good with the blue LEDs illuminated when it is switched on and it's reasonably priced. Cons: However, like all glass kettles, it needs frequent de-scaling to keep it looking good - at least weekly, even with light use. The limescale filter is useless and will stop nothing smaller than a boulder. This is because it is mounted on the lid and does not seal against the kettle body when the lid is closed. There is a 5mm gap all around it. Unlike most good kettles, the switch on this kettle does NOT turn off when the kettle is lifted from the stand. This means that if you lift the kettle before it has fully boiled and pour out the water, it will still be switched on when you replace it on the stand and could boil dry with no water in it. UPDATE: After a couple of months use the kettle no longer switches off as soon as it boils. It continues to boil vigorously for up to a minute, filling the kitchen with steam.

Great value if you just want a triblet

As mentioned in other reviews, this is great value if you just want a triblet. However the markings seem to be simply printed on rather than engraved and they are not going to last very long if you hammer a ring on there. My markings wore off around the "T" in the first couple of minutes use, as can be seen in the photo. Also, the markings are not very accurate as they read small by almost a whole size.

Cheap & nasty

Flexible plastic lens is optically poor and produces a distorted, blurred image. Don't waste your money. Mine went straight in the bin.....
