Returns to the default setting

This product has the eight different settings for the lights, the switch to change the settings being easily accessible on the end of the transformer plug. however, after the power is switched off the lights reverts back to the original setting, a default setting. This is very frustrating and should be highlighted on the packaging. The product is advertised as having a timer to provide six hours on and eighteen hours off, so that you do not forget to switch them on, but the instructions included in the light set states that power should be turned off when not in use or when unattended, not sure how one is expected to use the timer when following these instructions. Lights do provide a lovely warm white lighting for decorative lighting.
