Pavement special
Pavement are one of those great bands that fell under the mainstream radar in the middle to late 90's. The late great John Peel was a fan , and I got into them after reading one of his books and looking at his all time top 50 songs. They blew me away , cleaver , funny , catchy with great guitars. I am still trying to land their 1st LP , which i believe is amazing , but crooked rain is well up their in my top 10 albums heard this year. It is fantastic how JP is still influencing music fans today , will there ever be another?

Jah can play Bass
Jah left the PIL stable to from Jah Wobble and the invaders of the heart. This album is a real jem , with a arabic african feel supported by a strong bass line. Jah has got to be one of the best bass players around and his style of music crosses whole continents. The title track rising above bedlam stands out for me , and the whole album is full of colour and texture. Jah is a true tallent.
