A lost opportunity... photos with no dates at all
Swindon Adver, if you live in Swindon or read any of their Internet articles, is a source of useless, frequently unresearched, pointless news. This book, which should have been an ideal research tool, continues that "tradition" and has photos with no captions, and none of them are dated. Nice to see, and some I haven't seen, but without dates they mean nothing.
Since it comes from their archives then whoever made the selections surely knows when they were originally taken and used in the Paper. Apparently not. Which does not instill any confidence in them and I would not recommend this book to anyone, beyond just adding it to a local history library for the sake of it.

I have read and enjoyed many of Brian Fagan's books which look at aspects and sources of history that are uncommon and fascinating

Well worth whatever you pay on Ebay for this film.
A great film told in Tarentine's fashion in five chapters as if reading a book, bringing together two separate plans to kill the Nazi Hierarchy using a single coincidental change of Hitler's plans to watch a film in a small cinema in occupied France.
Is it historically based? No. Is it fun and entertaining to watch? Highly.
And what are you going to do when the War is over?
