Not Fully Compatible With 2003 MGTF
Nothing wrong with the rubber gaiters or the quality of the Cable End Bearings but I could only fit one of the replacement bearings because the factory-fitted parts are slightly different for each cable. The cable which comes down vertically needs a longer adjustment section (the female thread into which the male thread on the cable itself engages) on the cable end bearing than the horizontal one. The cable end bearings supplied in this kit are both the same so one will not fit my 2003 TF.

Cheap & Nasty
Bought this set primarily for drilling Stainless Steel but thought I'd try them out on something easier first. Tried 5.5 mm and 6 mm diameters to enlarge a pilot hole through a piece of bronze only 12 mm thick. I was using a DeWalt cordless drill and controlling the speed and feed carefully. To my astonishment, both drills snapped where the plain shank meets the fluting.
I have never in my life snapped drills of this size (I've been using drills for more than 40 years) -
yes, I may have bent one or two but never snapped any but the smallest diameters. So I can only conclude that these are very poor quality or there is a manufacturing fault.
The case may be metal but here is gaping hole in the top (so you can see there are drills inside?) which allows the smaller drills to come out unless a great deal of care is taken during transport.
I suppose at my age I should have known better than to purchase a set of Cobalt drills for £25 when well-known brands were going for twice the price. Just glad I tried them out first before starting on an expensive piece of stainless.
A waste of money. Do not buy.

Not Backwards Compatible!
1 of 1 found this helpful If you are looking for a replacement case for the older Halfords 200 piece tool set then you may be disappointed as not all your tools will fit in the slots (specifically the all the ratchet ring spanners, some of the deep sockets and the 1/2 inch square drive extension) and there are also a number of extra slots for tools you never had.
I would have thought most people buying this product will be doing so because their 'old' case has broken - my set was just over 5 years old and yet this new case's internals are a different design. One of the advantages of a purpose-made case with a shaped space for everything is that you can see at a glance that you have put all your tools back - I no longer have this advantage. Of course it may also be a ploy by Halfords to get people to go out and buy new tools to fit the empty spaces - but that's probably a bit too subtle for Halfords!
An excellent idea to sell replacement cases but spoilt by lack of thought as to what really is likely to need replacing at this point. Would have been a 5-star review if it was a like-for-like replacement.
