P-Touch XL with full size keyboard
1 of 1 found this helpful The P-Touch XL has a real full size keyboard like a typewriter or full size laptop. For a touch typist this is a great feature. If you only type with hunt and peck then the current Brother P-Touch with button keys or micro-keyboards maybe okay but I was very frustrated by them. This keyboard allows me type a label while reading the item description without having to look where the keys are. Typing text is straight forward. One needs the manual in order to figure out how to use the functions keys in order to do the special features like changing font, printing vertically, making multiple copies, etc. Once you understand how the P-Touch XL does things the light green labels by some of the keys along with the "code" key are enough to handle many of the features one uses without having to resort to the manual again. I have found this unit to be reliable and easy to use. Changing tapes is easy. The case provides a convenient way to transport the XL. However, the unit is big like a typewriter and would be cumbersome to setup and put away frequently. I have a place where it is left setup and ready to use whenever it's needed to make a label.

Australian setting. Full of well developed quirky characters. Interesting plots with occasional twists to keep you guessing.
