An album that should be in everyone's collection
Great album. Bought this after buying Ulf Wakenius's 'Love is Real', which covers most of the same tunes but with guitar and string quartet. Ulf's rendition is very melodic and a great album to chill to. This with the composer playing his own compositions is much more raw and 'in your face'. I listen to both depending on my mood. Still accessible even if you're not a die hard jazzer. I can see Esbjorn Svensson becoming a cult composer in the next few years. I only heard of his sad death after ordering the CD.

Enchanting music
Spasre instrumentation lets the quality of her voice and the tunes shine. If you're not familiar with John Cale's Close Watch you'll never guess Agnes's (pronounced with a silent G and Obel with the emphasis on O) version is a cover. The main instruments on most of the tracks seem to be a piano often playing simple rhythmic chords or one note hook lines. (Sometimes both) and cello. With the ocasional acoustic guitar and even more ocasional rhythm section. Though the balane is so finely crafted that you often don't notice new instruments come in. A great chill out album.

Cracking Album
Disc opens with the very Grismanesque Mandolin Meltdown. Lovely melody and very fluid playing style. Another which I love is the beautiful Jessica's Lullaby. Some of the songs aren't quite my cup of tea but that's my taste. The playing and singing is excelent. Doubt whether many bluegrassers could be dissapointed by this disc
