Well worth a watch if you like Fantasy.

This film is a very good adaptation of Ray Bradburys classic novel. I first saw it in the 1980's but haven't been able to get a DVD of it for some reason. I was delighted to find this copy from Europe. The charm of a small American town of the 1920's is captured beautifully as is Braadbury's addition of a supernatural reality. This is not really a childrens film but it is about children and the quest for good against evil, and for manhood.

Maigret

A classic piece of cinema well worth watching, this is not Michael Gambon or Rupert Davies, far from Rowan Atkinson, but it is a very engaging film. There is a very Young Burgess Meredith. Movie from a differnt era and the colour is early type. Worth having in a collection: based on a Simenon Story rather literal performance of it.. I like Charles Laughton as Maigret, I guess that may be contested, but this film gets my vote.
