A Decorative Teaching Tool
I have purchased Five of these Tibetan Silver Thanka Amulets! They are awesome! As a Middle School Teacher, they can be used for teachable moments in almost any subject area. I wear a different one each day, around my neck on the school lanyard. My wife showed me how to shine it up with some silver cream and we were off to the races. Once it captures my students’ attention, the amulet thanka becomes a great conversation piece. For example...
Language Arts-The image on one side show a scene from a Buddhist tale or parable, or a Chinese Animal Form.
Science-The amulet is made of Tibetan Silver, which is a composite blend of silver, copper, and nickel.
Social Studies/Geography-Where is Tibet located? Who are the Tibetan people? What is their history? What type of government does Tibet have?
Economics: Where is the amulet manufactured and sold?
History: Most amulets have the Chinese Zodiac stamped on the reverse side. What are the animal symbols and their meanings?
Physical Education: Animal Forms and Martial Arts as a way to exercise...Kata, Kumite(Sparring)
Pop Culture: Shine it up with some silver polish and you have some nice “bling”!

Classic Ninja Novella
Excellent DVDs! So many memories! This series brings me back to Los Angeles in the late 1980's when is first saw it on Channel 18. Sonny Chiba's acting ranges from funny to heartfelt. DVD's and packaging are in great shape and artistic. The period storyline is excellent. Thank you! I love it!
