Simple cheap bee nuc
I was very pleased to order three of these. They arrived very quickly. Great packaging with easy to follow assembly instructions.
The nuc’s themselves look great put together. They certainly aren’t made from anything substantial. The ply used for the floor and walls is far too thin to last or any good for keeping bees warm. That’s my main grumble. By I guess you get what you pay for at this price. I’ve treated the wood all round, but I still don’t expect they will last long outside. The frames also shake about in the box as the dimensions are too big internally. One of the three nucs needed the frame rails cutting with an angle grinder so it would fit. Not the end of the world I guess.
I think they’d be useful to me for collecting swarms as they are light weight, but realistically they are not a long term nuc in my opinion.
