Superb innovation and style

The unit is the same size as the Samsung S7 Edge and looks good and feels great in the hand.
5" Colour screen is crisp and the product has all the features that you would expect from a smart phone.
The alternate black and white e-ink screen is a great innovation allowing use in bright sunlight and greatly extending battery life - and is just large enough to be OK for e-reading.
Switching between screens is very practical with the "unwanted" screen being locked automatically. The options for the e-ink screen range from a choice of layouts that can optimised with widgets or application links to your requirements, can run e-reader applications or if you so choose you can switch all home page layout and functions to the e-ink screen.
The colour screen face is flat flush (no lip) and the e-ink screen surface (in gorilla glass) is curved which might present a risk of scratching on hard surfaces.
Stylish "bumper bars" designed for the Yotaphone 2 in aluminium are however on the market - and are recommended. They fit easily and do not obstruct any phone function but they do provide a small lip on both faces. They are available in all colours so can provide a contrast to the stylish matt black theme of the Yotaphone.
Nano Sim card is inserted with a delicate drawer which also serves as a volume rocker control and the battery is non removable - neither is a problem as long as they last.
