For those of us that lived through the sixties, this movie gives a whole new perspective on nostalgia.
2 of 2 found this helpful From the opening scene to the final frames "The Dish" takes you back to a day when America was still great. In one epic event, its people and the world were galvanized into joy by the greatest achievement of technology and the human spirit ever in the course of human history of it's day, and possibly for all time. Not produced in Hollywood, but by an Australian film company, there is a mischievous 'un-American' outlook that adds both humor and poignancy to the story line. Break out the popcorn and revisit one of the greatest events in our lifetimes with a well crafted look at "One small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind" - you may have been one of the estimated 450 million who watched it live, and if so, you will enjoy this film and your memories of July 21, 1969.

An engaging true story of our human spirit's response to challenges of epic proportion.
Did you know that the mathematical calculations for the early NASA missions were not done by electronic computers? Based on the untold true story, 'Hidden Figures' is the story of three brilliant African-American women working at NASA who were the brains behind the launch into orbit and safe return of John Glenn - the stunning achievement that turned around the Space Race and inspired generations. The movie has been described as 'Uplifting in Every Way" by Pete Hammond and you'll not want to miss this one! If you enjoy 'Hidden Figures' - look for 'The Dish' - another great movie about 'one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind' - the first moon landing.
