long live Matchbox

Food For Free

An affordable entry-level cancorder
This is a great entry-level camcorder which is used by journalism schools to teach with. It is robust and fairly easy to use - being based around the inevitable multiple function menu system - where you have to learn all the functions and variations. They do have an 'EASY' mode where you just point and click - so you can get started.
Although the picture appears over-saturated I am sure you can change that if you mess about with the setting. It does tend to be starved of light and I usually have to edit the indoor shots by tweaking the brightness setting when I edit - but you would do that anyway if you are trying to produce a decent video. The microphone is 'adequate' for normal use but an omni-directional mic is essential for serious voice work
