3.2KG 7lb LUMP SLEDGE HAMMER WITH HICKORY SHAFT HANDLE A1900

Good, solid sledge hammer, purchased Dec-23. Would recommend

I needed a sledge hammer to remove some old wardrobes, abd my standard 16 Ounce claw hammer wasn't sufficient. As an amateur DIY-er, I purchased this item after looking at other available options. This seemed like the best combination of being heavy-duty enough for the job in hand, without being too heavy. (I'm 6 ft 2 and 12.5 stone). At just over 3Kg, it's heavy enough to do what I wanted. The hickory shaft looks to be very well secured to the metal head, and is able to minimise vibration when in use. I preferred a wooden shaft over man-made materials for this purpose. The metal head is well shaped and so I was able to complete the demolition work I had in mind. I haven't used the sledge hammer for outside work or for example on breaking up walls, masonry or concrete, so I can't comment on the hammer's perfprmance for this type of work. 4 stars rather than 5 as I'll see how long it lasts, but for now I am very satisfied that it can do the internal demolition work that I had purchased it for. Having purchased this item, I would look at other Amtech tools in future, as this item is well made and good value for money.
