Good quality PVR with all the features you would ever want.
The PVR has all of the features I want. It does HDTV, allows you to view things you've missed from content producer's web sites, and its user interface is quick and easy to read for someone like me who needs glasses. The only thing that made it miss a recording so far was a power cut. I fitted a 2TB disk, which it accepted with no problems.
One particularly nice feature is being able to hide the channels you don't want to see in the program guide. The advertising and product promotion channels, plus a dozen or so other channels are my favourite ones to hide The response speed when you change a page appears instantaneous. You can also customise the channels list.
The part where you find your stored programmes is text based with images that are captured when the box is idle. It goes back to where you were when you finish a programme so the next one in a series is easy to find. It is also folder based so its easy to navigate. The images are not particularly helpful, since they generally tell you nothing about the program, but the text tells you all you need to know.
I bought this after serious disappointment with a YouView box, which started out well but was auto-upgraded to a slower user interface with most of the PVR functionality no longer present, additional BT Tv branding (because I buy my network connection from BT), plus an obligatory advertisement The 'upgraded' user interface appeared to be modelled on a tablet, which is not appropriate for a tv where you sit eight picture heights away and cannot flick anything.
If you don't want this, the Humax box is the one to buy. They know what their customers want and tend not to foul it up with untested updates.

It only has one fan not two but otherwise it is as advertised.
Its distinguishing feature is its height which is smaller than most vertical heatsinks and allows it to fit into a small, full height, HTPC case. The fan is only three wire not four as normal for a cpu fan. It is relatively quiet making it suitable for an HTPC.

Worked well after three applications and cleared wax on my eardrum. Highly recommended
