Wilkinson Vintage Alnico V Telecaster Pickups for Stratocaster Electric Guitars
    02 Feb, 2018
    Top Value Upgrade
I purchased the Vintage Telecaster set to replace those in a (very) budget Harley Benton T-type, which was my first experience of the traditional 'Tele' type of guitar. In such a case it would be easy to end up spending more on the pickups than the cost of the original guitar, so the price point was, I admit, the first thing that attracted me. Having been very happy with other Wilkinson products in the past, I took what was a fairly safe plunge. They are very simple to fit, just a straight swap and while everything was dismantled I took the opportunity to screen the cavities and scratchplate to help eliminate any single-coil background noise problems. I'm more than happy with the result; the 'Vintage' setup means there's more quality than quantity to the output, which is fine by me! To be honest, I never thought I'd like the Telecaster experience as much as I do.
MIRROR CHROME SCRATCH PLATE Pickguard to fit USA/Mex JAGUAR Guitar
    30 Nov, 2016
    Maximum Bling!
I have a Squier Jag in white that came with a tortoiseshell pickguard that I was never particularly taken with. Over the last year or so I had kept an eye out for any likely replacements, but they seemed to be few and far between (you have all the choice in the world if you have a Strat) until I came across these plates. I had always thought a white one would be the thing...but what the hell, at that price I went for the full chrome effect. There are warnings that you may need to make some adjustments to get a good fit and this was indeed the case: a few screw holes needed elongating, the bridge pickup cut-out needed a little adjustment as did the curve around the control plate, but the whole process took under an hour with a small round file and some emery paper and the acrylic was very easy to work with. I left the protective plastic film on until the work was completed, of course. The finished job looks amazing and it seems to be hard-wearing too; it doesn't show scratches and finger marks nearly as badly as I thought it might. Overall, it was well worth it and a cheap new look for that Jag.

GUITAR SHIELDING KIT - CONDUCTIVE PAINT and COPPER FOIL PICKGUARD SHIELD
    01 Dec, 2021
    Completely brilliant!
These kits are an automatic purchase for me whenever I buy a guitar with single coil pickups. Strats, Teles, Jags and several Burns guitars have all benefited enormously from using the kit, which is particularly useful if you do a lot of recording. Just follow the instructions and get rid of the noise! Highly recommended.
