A really Nice cd
1 of 1 found this helpful I collected a complete set of Nice albums in the early seventies and still listen to them occasionally, but who can be bothered with vinyl nowadays? Also, most listening is in the car where cd's are ideal.
This collection represents the group perfectly in my (uninformed) opinion. 'Best of' compilations often fail to work, especially when tracks have been extracted from concept albums, but I always felt that The Nice supplied stand-alone tracks which were entirely individual and self reliant.
All in all, a great acquisition.

Best product of its type 40 years ago and still is.
Back in the late 60's and early 70's the choice of quality pens for the draughtsman or woman was limited but the Rotring systems were considered to stand head and shoulders above everything else. Convention dictated that, in common with all tradesmen, one bought one's own equipment as persuasion to look after it and Rotrings were always expensive but well worth the investment. Even now, damage to any nib of 0.3 mm or smaller just by dropping it will leave the careless operator £20+ poorer.
Nowadays the range of choice of professional pens is eye-watering and the quality excellent. Gel pens for example produce a very nice result but I have never found anything to match the Rotring Rapidograph. It uses cartridges that are long lasting but, again, quite expensive at over £5 for a box of 3.
High quality presentation is more important than ever because of computer technology and can only be matched by using the best quality equipment. I always consider the bottom line - if the stationery for any particular project costs a fiver and it is invoiced at £1,000 then the moral and commercial need to produce the best possible product is a no brainer.

An inexpensive way of experiencing this magnificent Gilbert & Sullivan comic opera.
Gilbert & Sullivan attract fans who border on the obsessive and are familiar with every note and word written by their idols. However, whereas most of the more casual enthusiasts know The Mikado, Pirates of Penzance, Iolanthe, perhaps Trial by Jury, Pinafore etc., they are not necessarily au fait with the more obscure operas or those which are performed less frequently.
Please believe me, Princess Ida is a revelation on first viewing and went straight to the top of my favourites when I had that opportunity. This particular CD pair contains no background information, details of performers etc. other than the D'Oyly Carte title reference but is very reasonably priced and is an excellent way of getting to know the piece. You won't be disappointed.
Edit to original review. I note that the product description describes a four page booklet, but there was no such document in my copy, not that it made any difference.
