“Godzilla vs Space Godzilla” - so so. “Godzilla vs Destroyah” - GREAT!!
“Godzilla vs SpaceGodzilla” is a middling kaiju flick. It’s entertaining enough, but nothing really special (the villain here is basically a clone of the big G with some glowing crystals stuck on it’s body). But for the sentimental set, there IS baby Godzilla…
The real gem here is “Godzilla vs Destroyah”. The film is totally engaging and the King of the Monsters is pitted against a truly menacing and formidable foe. Also, this movie boasts the most poignant finale in the entire Godzilla franchise… A must see!

Very good collection of music from Godzilla films.
Very nice collection of theme songs and incidental music from various Godzilla films. I like that the track selection “bounces around” through different eras - from Gojira (1954) to Godzilla vs Destoroyah (1995). Music from Godzilla vs The Sea Monster (which is sometimes absent on similar collections) is here as well…
These are not the original soundtrack recordings, but the orchestra conducted by Randy Miller does a very good job in interpreting the compositions. My only quibble - I could’ve done without the heavy metal, Cookie-monster vocal cover version of BOC’s “Godzilla” at the very end of the CD (a “hidden” track - should have stayed hidden!).
Despite that minor misstep, this is a very enjoyable collection that should appeal to all fans of the Big G, as well as to fantasy soundtrack aficionados.

Classic volume on the history of horror movies…
One of the classic volumes on the history of horror movies (right up there with similar studies by Carlos Clarens and William K. Everson). I owned this book when it first came out (I was in high school at the time and probably pored over it while listening to Bowie’s “Diamond Dogs” lp from the same year).
I am happy to have obtained a replacement copy at a good price…
Though the written analysis may not go as deep as other books on the subject, this publication makes up for it by being adorned with a wealth of great photos (many of them in color). That and the nostalgia factor alone make this book is a must-have for any fan of classic horror…
