One of the few "always on" devices in a serious pedalboard
2 of 2 found this helpful The transparency and "oomph" factor of the AC Booster make it a must-have pedal on my board. I first discovered it when playing with a new singer/guitarist who was running a humbucker-loaded Gibson through a vintage 2x10" amplifier, completely dwarfing my Stratocaster/Deluxe Reverb setup. I ended up buying one of these pedals, and presto...instant girth without adding unneeded distortion/overdrive. This is a transparent pedal, and though it can be driven, that's not its main purpose. This pedal adds thickness and presence to your tone without unnecessarily compressing and bringing you into the fuzz-zone.
Warning: the tone is contagious. I've lent this pedal out and ended up having to ask the borrower to buy his own!
