Terrific Insight
Does not contain abundant combat but offers a fantastic look at the life and conditions of the 1914 Western Front. The author describes brilliantly the plight of the civilian refugees as well as the troops. It makes the exhaustion of war seem real. Read this then "Now It Can Be Told" by the same author.

Outstanding
All books in this series are outstanding. Most photos have not been published before and are very sharp and detailed. Of interest too is the documentation which describes paint schemes and colors, helpful for the modeler.

A "must have" for my Vietnam film collection
1 of 1 found this helpful Being a lover of military history I tend to be a little too critical of war movies. None the less I still enjoy this movie and consider it one of the best of the Vietnam flicks along with "Platoon".
