Brilliant body but shoddy kit lens.
I bought this to replace my DSLR as I had to downgrade. I didn't use it enough.
Of course this isn't a match for a proper (I used a 50D with a 2.8 24-70) DSLR, both in picture quality, ease of use or any technical aspect of it. However this is light, easy to bring with you, and if you know what to do it will take very good pictures. The menus can be a pain to navigate through, but once you are used to it it's not much of a problem. The possibility of using a proper flash was also one of the deciding factors for me. It works great with my 430EX.
The standard kit lens isn't that much good.. I'm considering replacing it with a wide prime, as i rarely use anything above 20mm focal length. Not that I don't want to use anything above that, this lens just doesn't meet my standards.
So, the camerabody it self is just fine. I really like it. The cheap kit lens however is.. I don't like it. It really makes me miss my 24-70, as the max aperture is 3.5 @ 14mm on this. Quite useless in my book. Also I suspect that the picture quality seriously suffers from this lens. So get a nice lens with this and it'll be very nice for a compact camera!

Good, light and great value!
A perfect walkaround-lens for fullframe cameras, although the sharpness isn't too good at maximum aperture. For very sharp images it's a good thing to stop it down a bit, but then it also really delivers. Also it weighs next to nothing (used to the 24-70L) and it's dirt cheap! Just what I wanted from it.

Died in a week
Initially it looked good when first powering up my PSP. I charged it completely, played for about half an hour and left it for about a week. Now the cell has inflated slightly and voltage has dropped to less than 2 volts.. Not what I had hoped.
