Good boots
I bought these boots because they were the only ones I could find anywhere that filled all my requirements - i e size 13; safety; waterproof; and re-soleable. I sometimes walk up to 10 miles a day, on a variety of surfaces including paved areas, gravel, and wet grass. I've had several other brands that seem to last no time at all - I'm heavy on heel wear, and with dual density soles I wear through the outer hard layer quite quickly, then the spongier inner layer goes in no time. These Ambler boots were fairly comfortable from day 1, and after only a couple of weeks wear the soles seem to be harder-wearing than most. There has not been much heavy rain since I've had the boots, but so far my feet have stayed warm and dry, and at the present time I can't fault the boots. I also liked the touch that they come with a spare pair of laces.

Waterproof, alcohol safe and stain resistant
3 of 3 found this helpful I've used Rustins Plastic Coating for many years, for treating turned wooden wine goblets. I brush on 6 coats on the cup and 4 on the stem and foot. The result is a waterproof, stain resistant and alcohol safe finish - but not dishwasher-proof. I know of one of my goblets that has been used for a couple of glasses of red wine almost every day for about 5 years, and it's still going. The only drawbacks I've found are the smell while it's drying: plenty of ventilation needed.
