4 x Replacement Cups for Egg Poacher Steamer Cooking Pan
    06 May, 2017
    Egg poacher cups
These replaced the original metal cups in my poacher. I've used this type before, but couldn't find any in local shops. I was happy to see these on ebay. Boy, is it nice not to have to worry about rust & flecks of Teflon!! I aways grease the cups with a light coat of (culinary!) oil or butter. Provided you don't leave 'em cooking for yonks, eggs just slide out & cups are easily cleaned. Just don't use anything as harsh as a green scourer on them, or let the water boil dry & melt them, and they'll last well.

    A Useful Reference
Having been away from modelling for years, I needed a 'refresher' to give me confidence to take scalpel to styrene sheet. The book covers working in metals too, with a lot of info on how to get the best out of either plastic or metal kits. It is ideal for kit bashers and scratchbuilders alike. Though written mainly with 4mm scale modellers in mind, the info is just as applicable in 2mm to 10mm scales (gauge 3 too - for bodywork). By a modeller for modellers, it's a well written, well laid out and profusely illustrated volume, with a wealth of tips and cheats, lists of suppliers, a reasonable index, though perhaps not as comprehensive as it could be and (often underrated) a very good bibliography. When you're tackling long scrapped stock from obscure minor railways, you're often lucky to find suitable kits (of which there are hundreds), so the ability to 'do it yourself' is often essential. This book makes that task a lot less daunting. Your only problem will be creating reasonable drawings where none still exist, but there a good few pointers on getting to grips with this issue too. Within a couple of hours, I'd worked out how to tackle a couple of problems which had been stumping me for ages and suggested many improvements to techniques I've used previously. It's a great addition to my modelling library.
