AC socket required power cord modification
The function generator is a great product for the price and should get a higher rating from me BUT the unit kept shutting down with the slightest touch or movement on the workbench.
The problem was the AC input socket on the back of the machine. It was the neutral and load prongs. The ground prong was OK. They were 1.5mm too short and not making a good connection with the power cord. Therefore the slightest bump or movement would shut the unit down. I couldn't extend the prongs so I ground down the end of the power cord by 3.36mm and it now sits firmly in the FY6900 AC socket and does not shut down the unit with the slightest touch. I hope no one else has this problem but the easy solution worked fine except now I have a new machine that has no warranty or 30 day return because I modified one of the parts. I don't like that I get punished for the problems of the company that supplies the AC input socket for the FY6900 units.

Timless Truth
The publication (2007) may be a bit dated, but the topic is timeless and today's names and faces (including yours and mine) could easily replace the ones in this excellent book. Well researched and written.
