A worthwhile upgrade
1 of 1 found this helpful This bulb is certainly very bright. I can't measure its light output but visibly it is many times more powerful than the standard incandescent bulbs it replaces. In my testing it uses just a little more power than a 2.4v 0.7A Krypton bulb, but it produces much more light.
It is a very worthwhile upgrade for flashlights such as older Maglites that are good quality but not very bright due to their incandescent bulb. It also fits some other flashlights that allow for a wider bulb base - make sure the flashlight can fit a bulb with a ~11.3mm base and preferably has metal around the reflector to dissipate the heat.

Excellent features for the power user, at a good price!
This charger is excellent and much better than other simpler chargers, mainly because it allows you to measure the mAh capacity of your batteries - so you can see whether a battery is failing or still good.
It allows you to set the charge current which is a very good feature to avoid damaging smaller batteries, but to allow charging of larger batteries such as AAs and C/D cells in the included adapters. It gives you the current battery voltage at any time, the current, the elapsed time of the battery's charge or discharge, and the total mAh capacity charged/discharged at any time. These are all really useful if you want to monitor how a battery is charging and identify if it needs replacing. The charger also has a discharge refresh mode used to automatically charge/discharge a battery to improve its capacity - this has worked for me on several batteries so far.
It has the important safety feature that most other chargers lack of temperature monitoring - so should a bad cell overheat, it will terminate the charge. It also incorporates the temperature into regular charge termination according to the manual. So far it has never missed a termination, and most batteries don't get hot while charging.
Overall I recommend it for anyone who needs more information about the health and charging of their batteries than a regular charger provides.

Good for fixing an old laptop
I used this to fix a HP Pavilion DV6 3109AX notebook. Typically what happens is that if the laptop overheats (runs very hot) on an ongoing basis, the integrated graphics chip which contains the northbridge dies and leaves the laptop dead. Typically you see the caps lock LED flash once every few seconds when you try to power on the laptop.
The best option for fixing such a laptop is to buy one of these replacement motherboards. If your old DV6-3000 laptop or similar (any laptop that uses this motherboard, 595135-001) stops working and flashes its caps lock LED once every couple of seconds when you press the power button, then it is most likely the motherboard that has failed. This caps lock error code officially means "CPU error" but is much more likely to be the motherboard that has failed. For the price you can't go wrong, these laptops still run Windows 10 and are fast with a SSD, so they are well worth fixing at this price.
Make sure you know how to install a motherboard before buying.
